The Art of the Brick is the perfect day out for the whole family and of course for LEGO fans of any age! It opened on 3rd April 2015, in Johannesburg, after its highly successful year in Cape Town.
Visitors can view 75 original artworks, all built with more than one million LEGO pieces by Nathan Sawaya. The Art of the Brick has attracted millions of visitors worldwide, and now for the first time, it’s Jozi’s turn to view these incredible LEGO sculptures.
Included in the event is Nathan’s most famous work, Yellow, which was featured in Lady Gaga’s music video for her single G. U. Y., an incredible 6m T-rex skeleton which is constructed with over 80 000 LEGO bricks. Theb exhibition and includes recreations of some of the world’s most famous artworks, such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and the Venus de Milo.
